Aquaporin Inside® Advantage

Lower Operating Pressure

Biomimetic aquaporin proteins allow water to pass through the membrane at lower transmembrane pressure — reducing energy consumption by up to 20–30% versus conventional TFC membranes.

💧

High Permeate Quality

Stabilised salt rejection of ≥ 99.7% ensures consistently high-purity permeate suitable for drinking water, process water, and reuse applications.

♻️

High Water Recovery

Designed for 2-stage system configurations achieving up to 80% system recovery, minimising brine discharge and maximising the value of source water.

🏅

NSF 61 Certified

Certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 — fully approved for drinking water contact applications, meeting the highest material safety standards.

🔩

Drop-In Compatible

Fits any standard 8-inch inner diameter pressure vessel. Direct replacement for conventional 8040 elements — no system modifications required.

📈

Long-Term Stability

Proven reliable performance over extended operation with minimal flux decline, even in challenging municipal and industrial feed waters.

Where It's Used

01

Municipal Drinking Water

Treatment of well water, groundwater, and surface water with elevated TDS, hardness, fluoride, or nitrate. Documented case results show 20–30% energy savings versus conventional membranes at the same flow and rejection targets.

02

Industrial Process Water

High-purity water production for food & beverage, pharmaceutical, electronics, and chemical manufacturing — as well as humidification, ice-making, steam generation, and spot-free washing.

03

Municipal Wastewater Reuse

Treatment of secondary or tertiary municipal effluent for indirect potable reuse, industrial reuse, or agricultural irrigation. Suited to 2-stage RO configurations at 80% system recovery.

04

Brackish Water Desalination

Treatment of inland brackish water (TDS 1,000–10,000 mg/L) for potable or process water supply in water-scarce regions and remote locations.

How to Install an 8040 Element

The CLEAR Plus 8040-440 fits any standard 8-inch inner diameter pressure vessel and installs identically to conventional 8040 RO elements.

  1. 1
Prepare the pressure vessel — Clean the interior wall. Remove end caps and any existing elements. Inspect O-ring grooves for damage.
  2. 2
Lubricate O-rings — Apply only food-grade glycerine to the U-cup brine seal and interconnector O-rings. Never use petroleum-based lubricants.
  3. 3
Load the element — Insert from the brine (reject) end, pushing forward until the element protrudes 20–30 cm from the vessel opening, then push fully home.
  4. 4
Connect elements in series — Link multiple elements (typically 6–7 per vessel) using the permeate tube interconnectors so feed flows axially through the spiral-wound path.
  5. 5
Install end caps and piping — Secure end caps and connect feed inlet, brine outlet, and permeate outlet to your system piping.
  6. 6
Flush and commission — Flush at low pressure (≤ 4 bar) to remove preservatives, then gradually ramp to operating pressure (typically 10–15 bar for brackish water).
